The massive movement project final assesment

Astronomy is the study of stars
geocentric model is the belief that earth is in the center of the universe .ptolemy tough of that idea
heliocentric model  is the belief that sun is in the center of the universe and Copernicus tough of it .
Revolution earth revolve around the sun .
Rotation  movement of earth around its axis
they are 2 hemisphere the northern hemisphere and the southern hemisphere
Polaris is the star that the sun is always pointed to and never move.
Equator an imaginary line that divide earth into North and south.
Pendulum  is an evidence that proves that earth rotates.
Coriolis effect is another evidence that proves that earth rotate.
Revolution movement of one body around another .
Orbit  an imaginary line  around which a planet travel.
Aphelion point on the orbit that is far from the sun
Perihelion point on the orbit that is far from the sun.
Winter solstice When earth gets less sunlight, when axis is pointed away from the sun.
Summer solstice when earth gets more sunlight.
Equinox When the sun is directly over the equator  , when day and night are equal.
Total eclipse  when you can see the full moon.
Partial eclipse  when you can see only  a part of the moon.
Phases of the moon linear revolution is the moon moves around of the earth .
Waxing moon is getting bigger.
Waning  moon is getting smaller .
New moon  when you do not see the moon at all.
Total linear eclipse is when the moon is cover by the shadow
Umbra  the shadow of the earth.
Penumbra is the sun .
Neap tide  when sea level stays normal without change.
Spring tide change of the level of the earth ocean .
Gibbous moon more than half.
Quarter moon  half of the moon.
Partial linear eclipse  part of the moon is cover by the shadow.
Greenwich  mean time  where times zone start.
International date line is a boundary formed where the 1st and 24th times zone meet. they divided by line of longitude.
direct sunlight when the axis is pointed directly to  the earth which mean its summer .
Indirect sunlight when the axis is pointed near earth( example near southern hemisphere)  it's  winter.
Equator does not have seasons because the axis is always pointed to it.
Tide  change of the level of earth ocean.
What phases of thew moon are neap tide?
first quarter and third quarter.
Water level  the height reach o the water .
What evidence proves that earth rotates?
Seasons/constellation.
Winter solstices when earth get less sunlight ( December 21st, 22nd)
Summer solstice when axis pointed to the sun ( June 21st or 22nd)
What phases of the moon is a linear eclipse?
full moon is a linear eclipse
